Paint calculator for South African homes: how much paint does your house need?
Trace your roof on an aerial photo of your street and Paintcount measures the walls under it, the roof, the fascias, gutters and trim, and, if you like, the inside: interior walls, ceilings, doors and skirtings. It writes the paint schedule a painter would, with a plaster primer, bonding liquid or stain-blocking sealer where the surface needs one and two or three coats on top, then buys whole 20, 5 and 1 litre buckets at 2026 Plascon and Dulux prices and adds the labour.
What the estimate includes
- Litres of exterior wall paint, roof paint, interior paint, ceiling paint, primer and enamel
- Houses, flats, blocks of flats and whole estates or complexes
- A shopping list of buckets per product, VAT included
- Contractor labour, scaffold hire and the number of working days
- The three grades of paint compared by cost per year of life
- The best months to paint at your address, from twenty years of local weather
